Pricing and paymentsHow do you keep pricing fair?
Fairness here means certainty, not being the cheapest. You get a fixed quote in writing before anything starts, with the scope written down, so the number you agree is the number you pay. If you ask for something outside that scope I quote it separately rather than quietly absorbing it or surprising you at the end.
Pricing and paymentsHow do payments work?
50% to book the work in, 50% before launch. The fixed quote is confirmed in writing first, so the price you agree is the price you pay. Two rounds of revisions are included, each as one consolidated list of changes; further rounds are £45/hr.
Pricing and paymentsWhat is the 2026 launch rate?
Every build booked and confirmed in writing before 31 December 2026 is 50% off the published price, for the first 5 projects only, in exchange for a testimonial and a short case study. Hosting and support stay as listed.
Pricing and paymentsWhat is not included in the price?
Copywriting, stock photos, logo and brand design, ongoing SEO, and third-party subscriptions are quoted separately. All are available, so the headline price stays honest.
ProcessWhy not use a website builder for less?
Builders are a reasonable choice for some businesses, and if one fits you should use it. What you get here instead is a site built for speed and search from the start, someone who answers when it breaks, and full ownership of the code and content with no monthly platform fee that rises every year.
ProcessInstatic or WordPress: which should I pick?
Both let you change words and images yourself. Instatic publishes your pages as plain HTML and CSS, so it loads very quickly with fewer plugins and updates to look after. If you need a shop or a specific plugin, I will tell you honestly and recommend WordPress instead. I will recommend one on our first call.
ProcessHow long does a project take?
It depends on scope. Express launches are from one month, standard projects take two to three months, and flexible ones have no fixed deadline. The timeline is written into your fixed quote.
ProcessHow quickly will you reply?
Within one business day. Replies come from me, not a team inbox.
OwnershipDo I own the site when we are done?
Yes. Once it is paid for, you get the files, logins, and full ownership. I can host or maintain it afterwards if you want, but you are not tied to me.
OwnershipCan I edit the site myself after launch?
Yes. Every site comes with a written handover guide and a walkthrough, so you can change content and images confidently after launch.
Hosting and supportWhat is managed WordPress hosting?
Hosting I set up and look after for you: updates, backups, security basics, and someone to call when something breaks. £18/mo for one WordPress site, or £194/yr. Lite hosting without the managed work is £12/mo.
Hosting and supportCan you host a site that is not WordPress?
Yes. Instatic and custom sites are hosted separately from WordPress, with SSL and security patching at my end, plus a login so you can change content and images whenever you like. Lite at £12/mo keeps the site online and secure. Managed from £18/mo adds version upgrades, uptime alerts, and backups. Exact figure confirmed in writing.
Hosting and supportWhat does support cost after launch?
Optional support is £35/mo and includes an hour of changes. Ad-hoc work is £45/hr. Neither is required.
